Isaac Itskovsky
Dear Parents and Students, My name is Mr. Itskovsky and I am one of the Spanish teachers at Northglenn High School. I am excited for a fun year of teaching Spanish I, Spanish AP, and Spanish for Native Speakers. I’m extremely passionate about the Spanish language and culture and I travel to Spanish speaking countries often. In fact, I live 2 months out of the year in Barcelona Spain. While I’m originally from Ukraine, Kiev, I attended UC Boulder and I studied Behaviorial Science and Spanish. I also atteneded Universitat de Barcelona for 2 semesters to study Spanish. I've traveled to over 15 countries and have rich understanding of the diversity of cultures that this world has to offer. I really enjoy working with students, and love the Spanish language and want to share my knowledge, experience and passion with the students so that they too may enrich their lives and be able to communicate in the Spanish language. It seems like just yesterday that I began teaching French at Northglenn High School as a young teacher. Since then, I have moved into a veteran role of the department and in the school. I love to teach French and share my culture with students. I also enjoy helping them discover new vocabulary and find confidence in speaking in another language. In my free time, I love to travel all over the world and visit my relatives in France. |
Zadik Lopez I am Zadik Lopez and I'm originally from Honduras, Tegucigalpa in Central America. I am very outgoing and love to be involved in sports, specifically Soccer. I am Colorado native who loves all things French. I began studying the language in middle school and have enjoyed it ever since. I have traveled to France a few times both as a student and as a tourist. While this is my fourth year at Northglenn, I have been teaching a variety of combinations of French and English for over 10 years. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my kids and family, reading, and jogging. I am also fanatic about gymnastics and Bronco football. Ashley Durrum
Looking back, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, I just didn't know what I wanted to teach. I took my first Spanish class in middle school, was totally fascinated by it, and the rest is history. I graduated from Metro State University of Denver with a B.A. in Spanish, and spent one semester in Guadalajara (Jalisco, Mexico). Spending the time in Mexico helped me to practice my Spanish skills, learn about the rich culture, try the authentic cuisine and make some lifelong friends. It was an unforgettable learning experience that everyone should have at some point in their life. After my first year of teaching, I went on to get my Master's in Secondary Education. All of my 11 years teaching have been with high schoolers; I wouldn't teach any other level! Teaching is a true passion of mine, and I am thrilled to be here at NHS. Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and two children. Being a teacher and a mom, I don't have much free time, but I also wouldn't have it any other way! |
